Cyber Crime, the challenge
With the ever increasing prevalence of the internet and IT, cyberspace is now a critical new area for law enforcement agencies (“LEAs”) and intelligence services ("IS") to fight crime. Modern law enforcement agencies need the proper tools and knowledge to investigate crime scenes located in cyberspace.
Navigating Cyberspace
To do their job properly LEAs & IS require specific knowledge of Internet based technologies and related standards. The main challenge for LEAs and IS investigators is to keep abreast of the latest threats as well as to know the latest investigation techniques, some of which come from the commercial world and which may not be fully mastered by the LEA & IS Communities.

Through the ISS VigiTrust have designed and held workshops for U.S Law Enforcement Agencies and Intelligence Services, covering such tops as:

ENISA:
The European Network and Information Security Agency, is an EU department which advises member state governments on security best practice. ENISA’s U.S equivalent would be the cyber crime division of the Department of Homeland Security.
VigiTrust have been part of its Security Awareness Working Group since 2004. In addition VigiTrust has worked on specific topics such as the fight against recruitment of terrorists using social networking platforms.
ISCC:
VigiTrust have worked with the International Security Competence Center in Austria, to train cybercrime experts from the major European police forces, including Germany, Britain, France, Ireland and Italy.
